The Secret to All Natural Beauty

When you hear the words all natural beauty, what do you think of? Probably some famous movie star or model, right? Depending on your generation, or inclination, you might think of someone like Jeanne Simmons or Audrey Hepburn, maybe Beyonce or Penelope Cruz, just to name four all natural beauty examples spanning different generations.

We see these larger than life women on the big screen, on television, in magazines, billboards, and on the internet. What too many women fail to realize, however, is that all natural beauty is not the exclusive domain of a select few celebrities; it is available to all who lay claim to it.

Are you sick and tired of the way you look and feel?

Of how you think others perceive you? First, things are never quite as bad as you think they are. Don’t beat yourself up over who you are or what you look like. We all tend to be our own harshest critics, but you are also the best equipped person to make yourself look and feel more beautiful.

Many women go to great lengths and expense in their desire for all natural beauty. In many cases this can involve surgery that too often produces disappointing results, never rendering those perfect features the patient had visualized.

Often, after lengthy, painful recoveries, a woman may find that her face may look unnatural, strange, rigid. At worst, some of these surgeries can be life-threatening.

Some women may try different beauty products to attain the all natural beauty that makes their skin and hair look more youthful and healthy. Unfortunately, too many of these products, even those labeled natural, often contain harmful chemicals that can damage your skin and hair.

(As a quick aside, always read the ingredients of any product you use for you skin or hair. Know what you put on your skin. For more information, read Beware of Natural Skin Care Products.)

Where does that leave the average everyday woman in her quest for all natural beauty?

reduce wrinklesWhat’s needed is a bit of perspective and understanding. There are many things you can do on a daily basis to radically improve your appearance without breaking the bank or risking your health. The key is consistency. Do yourself a big favor and stop idolizing all those perfect women and men you see on TV, magazines, and highway billboards. Do not compare yourself to them. Interestingly, watching a big screen high definition TV has done something to restore a certain balance in the world of beauty. By that I mean that even those we consider possessed of all natural beauty have ugly blemishes, pimples, wrinkles, scars, and any other number of imperfections on their faces and bodies, even after the best makeup artists in the world have spent hours making them pretty.

Have you seen the movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button?

It is amazing how makeup artists were able to make Brad Pitt look both like a teenager and an old man and every other age group in between. If a face in a magazine or billboard looks perfect to you, it’s because the image has been touched up digitally using today’s graphics technology to make the face look perfect.

Granted, some folks are blessed with exceptional features, skin and hair, but even the most beautiful get a lot of help. Tabloids will often show pictures of celebrities with their guard down, no makeup, baggy-eyed, shabbily dressed. It is truly remarkable how different the same person can look from one day to the next.

Each woman (and man) is a model of all natural beauty in her (or his) own way. We all have flaws. Many celebrities confess to having insecurities about their appearance.

Focus on what you like about yourself, not what you don’t like.

What are your best physical attributes? Eyes, nose, cheeks, mouth, skin, hair, legs, figure? Draw attention to those. More importantly, develop your inner beauty. This is what is most appealing and attractive to others, not how perfect your jaw line is. Be pleasant to others, be non-judgmental, be a good listener. Be a blessing to others, to neighbor and stranger alike, and your beauty will be reflected in the eyes of others. This is true all natural beauty.

Carry yourself with confidence and with a spirit of generosity towards others.

Learn to smile. With your eyes as well as your mouth. With your whole being. A genuine smile can project more all natural beauty than the most perfect CoverGirl face. Your inner beauty will shine forth onto others like sunshine.

What good is a beautiful face or body if the person is ugly on the inside? Selfishness, greed, dishonesty, conceit, pettiness - all these drive people away, leaving the so-called beautiful person alone or in the company of others like her or him.

Once you've got the inner part of the beauty equation accounted for, the outer part becomes a lot easier.

Don’t go chasing after Hollywood stereotypes of beauty. You don’t need to take drastic measures such as plastic surgery in your pursuit of beauty. Develop a daily discipline for improving how you look and feel. Get the biggest impact right away by practicing good skin care. Check out All Natural Skin Care Ideas for Better Skin for additional tips.

Just remember that true all natural beauty starts within, making you irresistible to others and the kind of person others want to be around.
