Skin Moles Can Lead to Problems
Are Skin Moles Really Beauty Marks?Ads by Google
Skin moles, which once used to be referred to as “beauty marks,” are anything but beautiful. In fact, moles on your skin
can lead to problems if they are not monitored closely.
First, let me say this article is not meant to alarm anyone. The typical skin mole, for the most part, is harmless
and benign. Most will remain that way the rest of your life and are not a concern, other than they should always be monitored for any changes in
appearance.
They can be a nuisance, however, if they are located where you normally shave, or where your clothing rubs against your
skin, such as in the neck area, under the arms or around the waist.
They are also unsightly, and can be distracting to whomever you are with. The days of Marie Antoinette, when fashionable
women drew moles on their cheeks, are long gone.
If you have pretty eyes and a large, glaring mole on your face, what do you think people are going to notice first? Yes,
the ugly mole. Don’t kid yourself.
Remember Enrique Iglesias? Handsome young man? Yes, but wasn’t it almost impossible to get past that ugly mole on his
face when he was on stage singing? And most especially when the television camera zoomed in!
Imagine the relief Enrique felt after he had the mole removed and saw himself in the mirror for the first time without
it!

Discomfort and appearance aside, what is most troublesome about any skin mole is its potential to become
cancerous.
Again, most do not, but there is always the potential. A tiny mole on my right arm gave me a huge surprise a
few years ago when it turned out to be a carcinoma, the less dangerous form of skin cancer (melanoma is the most dangerous
form).
Of course I had it removed surgically by a dermatologist. Happy to be rid of it, but not happy with the one and a quarter
inch scar, and the indent in my arm when I make a muscle. Still, I am thankful. It could have been worse.
Always be aware of any changes in your moles. Any changes in color, size, shape, itchiness, or bleeding should prompt you
to visit your dermatologist.
If it’s cancerous you’ll have to have it removed surgically, which can leave a nasty scar, or even damaged skin in the
surrounding area, depending on the procedure or the skill of the dermatologist.
Skin moles are not the worst skin condition you can have, unless they become cancerous. The best way to avoid that is to
have them removed before they can become a problem.
If the mole is not cancerous, you have other options other than surgery to have it, or them, removed.
Some of these natural at-home remedies are quite safe and have worked for many people. You owe it to yourself to explore all your options.
One option is essential oils.
